Working with Nature
Integrating the layers.
Forest gardening tries to steer Nature with a blend of native flora and carefully selected non-native productive and useful plants from similar temperate climates from all over the world.
It attempts to maximise natural processes and systems and thereby encourages biodiversity of species, while supporting and developing food production resilience.
By taking the natural approach there are minimal manmade inputs into the garden.
Integration of companion planting into the design generates and makes available various different nutrients for other plants.
By steering nature, rather than beating it into submission, workloads reduce while improving the quality of the “natural food” product.
